Active PFC
Can I connect an power supply with active PFC function to PowerWalker UPS? |
Yes. Active PFC switching power will generate a peak inrush current when it is switch on. For Offline and Line- Interactive UPS with transformer inside is unaffordable to back-up such inrush current. Then, the UPS will goes to fault mode and shutdown immediately. But Online models can work with Active PFC due to differnt hardware design. |
Fan Control
Can I control (disable) the fan in my UPS? |
Most UPS are designed to work without an additional fan. For bigger models from 1000VA on, a fan is required to ensure maximum preformance. Some UPS running with automatic fan controller. More details about the fan are mentioned in the datasheet |
API to get UPS Status
Is there any API to get UPS status (Battery, load level, etc) available? |
The UPS status can be read out by using monitoring software only. The software is available for many OS and free. An additional API is not available. |
Maxium load level
How much load can I connect to my UPS |
This depends on the size of the UPS. In every datasheet the maxium capacity is given in Watt and VA. Most devices like PC's, printers etc are using Watts. Now it's important to know that the connected load should not be more than 70% of maxium Watt level of the UPS to ensure all connected equipment and UPS as well. |
